Here are some suggestions on how parents can replace screen time with their babies:
1. Spend quality time with your baby:
Engage in activities that require physical interaction with your baby, such as playing peek-a-boo, singing songs, and reading books.
2. Explore the outdoors:
Go for a walk, visit the park or botanical gardens, or explore your backyard. Encourage your baby to explore nature through their senses.
3. Play games:
Play simple games with your baby, such as hide-and-seek, rolling a ball back and forth, and playing with stuffed animals or toys.
4. Invite other babies :
Invite other families with babies to join in activities such as baby swimming classes, sensory classes or playgroups.
5. Encourage creativity:
Provide your baby with different toys or objects that promote creativity, such as crayons, paints, and playdough.
6. Provide opportunities for sensory exploration:
Create opportunities for your baby to explore their senses, such as smelling flowers, touching different textures, and listening to different sounds.
Remember that you are your baby's first teacher, and by providing them with meaningful and intentional interactions, you are helping to promote their healthy development.
